Site Development
|
Developing a website can be a daunting task, even to professionals. There is a lot to consider. To get an idea of everything that goes into developing a website, take a look at the list of the items critiqued during a Site Review. In addition to pulling all of these elements together, a developer must also:
- organize files
- decide what content to use and where
- construct a layout which allows ease of navigation and enables easy access to information
- identify and targeting the right audience
The Process
After talking with you initially, I will send you a list of questions which will help me design a site customized to meet your goals. You will be an integral part of the process from the start, asked to review templates in the early stage of development. Based on your feedback, I will adjust the web pages to meet your preference while keeping in line with your goals for the site.
Updates and Maintenance
I can develop and maintain your site from beginning to end, or develop it for you and you can update your content as needed. You decide what you're comfortable doing and what you'd rather have me do.
Should you decide to do your updates, you will need an FTP or other upload program to move updated files to your host's server. This software can cost $25/year and up, or be free, depending upon your computer's applications. If I upload and maintain your site for you, you do not need FTP software, but I will charge a nominal fee on a yearly basis or per page basis, depending on the size of your site.
Likewise, if you don't know HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language), you will need a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Program such as Front Page or Dreamweaver to update your pages. Again, I can update your pages for you for a nominal fee.
